Mount KILIMANJARO:

Machame route Ref.: KG K 1

Day 1 - Early Departure from Nairobi and drive to Namanga on the Kenya - Tanzania border.On through to Arusha and check in at Aishi Hotel for lunch dinner and overnight.
Day 2 - Drop off at Machame road head and start the hike through the forest to Machame hut(3000mts).
Day 3 - We ascend a steep ridge through heather moorland,then follow a gorge to gain the Shira plateau and the Shira hut(3800mts) for overnight.
Day 4 - Head up towards Lava tower before branching off to Barranco hut (3900mts)
Day 5 - Back to the branch off before ascent to our next camp at Barafu hut(4600mts)
Day 6 - An early ascent to the crater rim,then its an hour to Uhuru peak(5896m). Down via Stella point then to Baarafu.Have breakfast and then descend to Mweka Hut(3000mts)
Day 7 - Descend through the open moorlands and forest glades and then through a belt of rain forest.This part is always wet.Have lunch and then return to Nairobi.
