Mount KILIMANJARO:

Marangu route itinerary for 6 days Ref.: KG K 2

Day 1 - Depart from Nairobi to Marangu Tanzania via Arusha.Check in at Capricorn hotel for overnight.
Day 2 - From Marangu gate we trek through rain forest to Mandara hut(2750mts)
Day 3 - After an hour’s ascent we emerge from the forest to open moorlands and the first views Kibo.Continue across moorland to Horombo Hut complex(3700mts)
Day 4 - Up again past the “Last water”to emerge on the Saddle - a spectacular high altitude desert.Past Mawenzi to overnight stop at Kibo hut(4700mts)
Day 5 - Early scramble up the scree to Gilmans point and then on upto Uhuru peak,the highest in Africa(5896mts).Descend to Horombo for overnight camp.
Day 6 - Descend to the park gate and the return to Nairobi.
