Day 1 - Early morning pick up from
a hotel in Nairobi.We drive Southwestern to
the Rift valley view point where volcanoes
on the Rift Valley e.g. Suswa,Longonot etc.
are seen. Drive down to the rift and across
to climb up the Western escarpment to Narok
town the central town of the Maasai.Pick up
our Maasai friends who will guides us through
the Loita.Lunch by the roadside near Uasonyiro
River.

In
the afternoon we drive to Jonathan’s
Boma(homestead) where his sister - a
teacher will give us a talk on daily
life in Maasai Boma.At 3.00pm we hike
towards Olonganaiyo (the place of Lions)
springs where we camp for the night.
The hike lasts s for 2 hrs. If there
is a ceremony in the nearby bomas we
may be invited to attend.

Day 2 - Early morning breakfast.
Unpitch the camp and leave camp to start hiking.
The hike is app. 10kms, which will be covered
in 2 to 4 hrs. Lots of animals viewed here
including the Maasai Giraffe.Binoculars and
camera a”must”. The terrain is
flat and light boots are okey.
Lunch will be served at your convenience at
a place of your choice.
In the afternoon we reach Majimoto(hot water
springs). We visit the local center, the hot
springs, and the local school.
We retire early today.
Day
3 - After B/fast pack up the vehicles
and drive for 1&1/2 hours to Maasai Mara
game Reserve.We check in Mara springs tented
camp. The local people man this camp and you
have the chance to learn more. Late afternoon
game drive.
Day
4 - Whole day game drive in Maasai
Mara game reserve. Packed lunch served at
the hippo pool.

Day
5 - Morning game drive returning
to the camp by 10.00am.Relax at the camp.
Afternoon game drive from 3.30pm to 6.00pm.
This is an option for day hiking to 500mts
behind the camp for the sunset thereby
missing the evening game drive or hiking
early in morning thereby missing the game
drive.
Another option is visiting a cultural
Boma. |
Day 6 - If departing for
Nairobi morning game drive is possible. If
continuing on with safari to Lake Nakuru,
Bogoria, or Samburu departure is early.
Variations/options
(a) The hiking can be done for more days i.e.
we are not restricted to 2 days only.We can
do 3,4,5 days etc.
(b) A hike through Loita hills, Nguruman forest,
dropping into the Rift Valley (very hot) and
across Magadi can be done. We need at least
5 days. If interested in Maasai Mara Game
drives, it can be done prior to going on the
hike.
Costs:Prices are being updated and will be posted here soonest. Meanwhile e-mail us to know the prevailing costs.
Costs include: All transportation,entry
fees,guide& porters,all meals,accomodation.
It does not include Boma visit fees, drinks
including water,personal gears, personal insurance & tips.
