Climbing Grade: Intermediate
Climbers should be experienced rock climbers with ability to climb up to 5.7-5.8. High altitude experience not required but recommended.

Leave Nairobi 3-4 Hours Before the Hike
Arrive in Naromoru around 11a.m to the office to meet with the trekking guide for short briefing and check all the gear needed for your climb then proceed to Naromoru Park Gate, have lunch and hike for 3hrs to Met station for overnight.
Hike gradually to Mackinder’s camp (4200mts) through moorland Accent of 1150 mts
in 7 hrs for overnight.
After breakfast hike for 3hrs to Austrian Hut (4,790) for overnight.
You will start the day at 5.30am for the summit attempt of point Lenana (4,985mts) an ascent of 385 ms; the highlight being the watching of African sunrise and if it’s clear enough having a view of MT Kilimanjaro. After taking photographs, descend down to Austrian hut for overnight. You will also meet the Technical guide here.
We have built in an extra day for the summit attempt which would require a bivi near the summit of Nelion and the need to carry ice axe, crampons, and a sleeping bag. If the climbing pace and the weather is okay we may climb Batian and descend down to descend down to Met station (3,050mts) for 5 and a half to 6hrs for Overnight.

Walking through the tropical rain forest, bamboo jungle, rosewood to reach Naromoru park entrance for signing out and pick up back to Nairobi.
